Springtime in Hamburg :-)

Our jolly little blue ambassador from Japan had a great time with Finn from class 6d. They both enjoyed springtime in Hamburg and went to play a match of badminton, too :-) You say, "wait a minute, it's not springtime in Hamburg anymore?!" Yes, that's right. The story has taken place a good few weeks ago, as summer is in full swing in Hamburg now, but the story is too cute, so we really want you to see it :-)

Boat trip on a sunny day in the harbor of Hamburg!

Moin again, this is what we say in Germany! People from the south of Germany think we mean to say "morning" which is a similar word in old-German, but actually, we use "MOIN" in the north pretty much all day.

On this day, we were supposed to stay in the classroom all day and work out routes with the public transport system of Hamburg! Because we were supposed to go on a trip in groups of four all over the city of Hamburg, so we get used to the system. We did that, too, and it was good fun, but we were TIRED and some of us were grumpy. We had tasks on a sheet of paper, write down what it says on the bridge at the station X or bring a souvenir from the trip back to the class. Miss Böhl got a "Franzbrötchen" from one of the groups, that's a speciality from Hamburg. It's kind of a pastry with lots of butter and cinnamon. It's a bit like a croissant, squashed and with lots of grease and cinnamon. Really nice. Some brought Mc Donald's balloons and even stones from some underground stations!

ANYWAY. Let's get back to the day before that tour. We were supposed to prepare for the tour, but our teacher spontaneously called our parents and surprised us by saying "you are supposed to sit in here and do these papers all day while it's beautiful outside, but I have another idea..." So we just hopped on the underground and bus and took a ferry from the harbor. We had an ice-cream a good way out of the city and then returned. All sunburnt but quite happy. On some pictures you can see the "Michel" in the background, it's the most famous church in Hamburg and was built to safeguard the sailors. It's the symbol for Hamburg. Can you find it on the photos? :-)

JUMPHOUSE!!!!!!

YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!!!

Class 6c did visited the "Jumphouse", we were all very excited! It's a place with lots and lots (and lots!) of trampolines, and you can jump on your own or play fun games with the whole class, for example, run over an obstacle route with a ball in two teams and see who is faster! Or play other games. It was great fun! We deserved the excursion, because we earned it by behaving super-well! In a lesson in which we are especially well-behaved and work super-well and quietly, we get a plastic ball in a jar. When we have 25, we are entitled to an excursion.. So we double-enjoyed the day out. Have a look at the pictures! Do you have this in Japan and / or Spain???? If not, you must come over and visit us, guys! We'll gladly go again with you :-D

The sports festival of class 6c!

The annual sports festival called "Bundesjugendspiele" is a big event for all pupils in Germany! It's a day of sports together, and pupils need to run, jump and throw a ball as best as they can! Once all the results are out, they get certificates and of course there always is a lot of screaming and cheering from all other class members!

We walked a long way to the stadium in the morning, because our teacher wanted to save on train money :-)))

After all the activity in the roasting sun, we walked all the way back, too. Most of us were exhausted and really tired at the end of the day, it was sooooo hot! Our Japanese visitor was in the middle of all of it and really seemed to enjoy it! :-)

Piglet in Hamburg, Germany! :-D

Piglet went shopping at the huge shopping center called CCB close to our school in Hamburg-Bergedorf with Antonia and Leonie and had soooo much fun dressing up in all kinds of styles.. As it's still a small pig, they took him to the toy and baby department, and piglet obviously had lots of fun :-D Bergedorf is the part of Hamburg where our school is and where most of us live. It's on the outskirts of the city, but the metro/underground will take you into the heart of Hamburg within about 20 minutes :-)
